@gimmegimme I ask this question in all sincerity because I can't quite remember. Why did we want to push for a best and final offer? I'm not sure if it made sense to me at the time but I didn't say/write anything.
but at the time it struck me as akin to a vendor of a house wanting to hear the auctioneer effectively say to the one bidder at the time that he only has one more bid left and that the auctioneer won't be accepting any revised higher bid after that.
that is not what I would be looking for in an auctioneer.
A HC poster noted in a post yesterday your brief appearance to get a call for best and final, then disappearance and once your absence was noted, your reappearance.
And Wam started buying the next day after the declaration of best and final offer. I suppose they have avoided chasing a runaway share price.
