Regarding the US$ issue, 1) TIE has no debt 2) my take is TIE has already purchased everything necessary for the construction (since it is near completion) and logically also for operations for at least the first 6 months of production since the supply chain logistics have been crazy. Aside from this the local workforce is v likely to be paid in the local currency, the West African CFA franc, which has already decreased by 16.5% versus the USD since Jan 1st. Regarding diesel, it is heavily subsidised in Ivory Coast and the price was finally increased but by only 6.5% this month, the first time in 3 years which means if u take the local currency 16.5% depreciation into account, diesel costs are decreasing in USD for TIE. .So for me TIE is in a sweet spot (with AISC forecasted at US$ 651/t for 1st y of production) and the two chinese companies buying TIE shares know it.
