Shorter’s have been shorting us at 20c, at 50c, at $1.50, at $2. They’ll be shorting us at $5, $10, $30 too in the near future…

As True Believer longs it really doesn’t matter a Jatz cracker to us, but it is just the hypocrisy of the situation that rankles with me.

I get a free trade under $1000 every day for each of my stocks with CMC. I’d love to buy a single share in the Lion every day to just nudge the price up whenever I wanted. Imagine if each and every one of us did that every day. Tim machine gunning hundreds of $5 trades a day to keep things on the up and up!

We can’t of course because that would be market manipulation and that is illegal. Plus of course platforms won’t let retail investors operate with such minute trades.

But borrow shares and go the other direction selling them lower and lower in minute amounts hundreds of times a day and Bob’s your uncle, nothing to see here…

Like I said ultimately we’ll come out good as gold (they’ll soon be changing that to ‘Good as lithium’ btw), but the notion that shorting is a fair, reputable and honourable practice is laughable in my view.
