Under corporations law (ie chapter 6 corporations act 2001) that’s the maximum percentage amount an entity is allowed to accumulate.. the prohibited amount is 20% of a listed company (think in terms of voting power)
The next step (if there is one) is a takeover bid or scheme of arrangement (see chapter 5 of the act)..
However from the outset, this strategic investment is a bit of a lifeline for the company, and could be the catalyst for a turnaround..
