Someone who is more familiar please correct me where I’m wrong …
Looks to me like this is GS becoming a substantial holder as a consequence of having more than 5% of share loaned to them by a range of other entities. Those other entities having bought the shares over a reasonable time frame including back in December last year. Does this indicate a bunch of buyers now loaning (for loan fee) to GS so that GS can sell them short at these higher prices in hope they can buy them back cheaper later to return? Simplistic question I realise but have I got this right from the annexures to the substantial holder notice? If so… could this be further part of ALB (or whoever might be behind ALB) trying to acquire shares and making use of GS to do so?
