Rocks , that is my understanding why they are spending a billion dollars on relining #6 BF. It must be a very difficult decision . I recall (rumours) ,that 20 years ago Kirby Adams did not want to reline #5 BF , impossible to compete against China on export market .Kirby went , relined 5 BF , then shut-down 6BF , because losing heaps of money on export market. I hope BSL have it right about the pace of green steel.
