Hi, As the price goes down , the incentive for small shareholders to accept decreases. Especially with no franking credits in the future. Now my understanding is that for the scheme to pass , you need a majority of the shareholders by number , not just the number of shares. If that is correct , then we may see a cash offer for smaller investors to bolster the chances of a vote passing. I for one will be reluctant to vote yes ,when there is a significant delay between the vote and getting the Newmont shares ,with the possibility of leakage of value. A fixed cash offer safer . Note mine are in a pension phase super fund , so tax not an issue.
