I think we invited the shorters onto this stock by various claims of $2.00, $3.00, and $4.00 near-term targets. Shorters would identify retail with strong confidence in the stock and they would take a position, knowing the retail will continue to invest while it went down to regain support or to "get in at these cheeep prices"
They set price targets and were laughed at, however, those price targets are close.
You cant call it theft if you know exactly what they are doing strategically, but you continue to sell to them out of fear of losing money. Thats you losing the game.
