JMO SP will be down by Friday of next week. AL sales pitch may raise stock for a day or two then it will drop. SS makes money by loaning stock to shorters not trading. The fees charge to shorters in US realy make it hard to profit from shorting in US. I learned this in 1999 and have not shorted since. I do buy PUTs if I want to trade the downside.
Besides the fees there is another big problem with shorts. They are a callable loan. So say the person loaning stock to you bought them on margin. Stock falls and you are making great money. Because stock is falling loaner receives a margin call. There goes your short and all future profit. I learned the hard way,
