I'll be taking up my entitlement, subject to positive information from thursday's OPEC meeting, because the bonus shares issued will retain the same CGT date as the shares held that entitled me. If the SP drops under $2.00 I may reconsider.
I'm not registered to give taxation advice, so please check with your trusted relevant advisor. I did check the ATO website to confirm.
I don't really care what the markets thinks, I believe that KAR shares are worth over $3.00 and I will place my bets accordingly. I will probably trade those shares in the near future to lower my exposure to risk. The CGT discount (hopefully) will be most advantageous, in that regard.
While KAR has increased its risk profile, it has also diversified it's production profile and resource life, which should (at least technically) justify a higher EBITDA multiplier and therefore SP.
