BUT....the tankers (which we both agree) are required to refuel the F35''s to get them to target and home, are not supersonic, and have no stealth tech? They are sitting ducks!
And besides, two jets can't accomplish that mission.
It's two risky a mission for the Airforce, whose principal job is the air defence of Israel - not risky attack missions. Apart from nukes, Israel's greatest deterent is its superior airforce. It can't afford to weaken this platform.
If Israel wants to take out the nuclear facilities of Iran, it will need US participation and will be done by precision missile strike, or it won't happen at all. They can not and will not do this alone!
