It isn't that curious. You have to disclose your transactions from the past four months. Vanguard is an index investor that holds stocks in proportion to their weights in popular indexes such as S&P/ASX300. You can try looking up VAS on the ASX for the ETF version of their Australian index fund. As more investors buy units in their ETF or in the underlying fund, it buys more of everything, including PNV. PNV has been in the ASX300 for quite some time now, much of their net buying took place prior to four months ago. They aren't forming a view that PNV is an awesome stock and are not manipulating the price. Their goal is to deliver index returns at low fees.
