My view is its got nothing to do with Norges wanting stock back. They lend it out when they can to earn a fee of say 1% pa. The hedge funds return it to Norges when they close their shorts to avoid the 1% fee. That is all it is. So some hedge funds were covering last week. But i'm sure they probably just passed the parcel to other HFs who are left holding the binfire and getting stock borrow from somewhere else (i.e. not norges).!
