State street customer longs currently 5.03% Securities lending authorisation agreement A., gives the voting right on shares to a stock borrower. Securities lending authorisation agreement B., returns the voting right to State Streets underlying customer if the borrower defaults.
It is not possible to work out the size of the shorts. As we do not know how many shares over the 5.03% that State Street acts for have been borrowed.
The positive is that State Streets net long position in Mesoblast with their customers has increased to more than 5% in Mesoblast.
