Personally, think it is somewhat telling that Vanguard were not listed in the TOP 20 in the 2024 annual report, ipso facto the 5% threshold or ~63m shares has been accumulated since that time. Few things to consider:

    1) they may have participated in the raise recently as part of taking a positon, but clearly below the 5% threshold and not at the full amount
    2) MSB represents at most 0.1% by MC of the ASX, so even if they were forced to buy the index its nowhere near 5%. Happy to be corrected on this logic
    3) One cant accumulate 5% without pushing up the price, which might explain shorting as an instrument to support accumulation and transfer of shares from impatient/nervous retail to big funds.....it's what i would do if i had the means.
    4) explains the sp not shifting despite a range of price sensitve positive announcements recently
    5) Also capitalises on the timeframe in which GG cant buy

I know that prima facie its wanky but alos wanted to use ipso facto in a post
