Great article, thank you. I used to read a lot of science fiction when younger, in a lot of ways good SF is a glimpse to the future. Several years ago I read that scientists were cryo freezing human cadaver brains, making wafer thin slices then creating a full detailed 3D model. Following that they started stimulating real brains and used the 3D model to start to correlate what happens where and why. At that point I could foresee this sort of tech coming in the near future and here we are. I cannot remember the SF book or movie I read/saw that opened my mind to the idea but I do know someone dreamed it up well before it started happening for real. cheers
