Interesting that in the announcement, the BGA Chief Executive Officer says that acquisitions made in recent years are already exceeding BGA's profit targets,

However that respected financial commentator John Durie recently claimed in my must read, 'The Australian' that this was not so.

I assume Mr Durie's information was incorrect or outdated.

You can bet from February I'll be encouraging more family and friends to buy Yoplait and their kids drink Big M and so on.

If BGA can deliver the synergies of which it speaks, could be a gamechanger.

As a Victorian I've always thought southwestern Victoria superior for dairying to Gippsland. SW Vic is largely Saputo (Canadian - Warrnambool Cheese and Butter etc) and Fonterra (NZ - Cobden dairying plant) territory but at least BGA bought the Koroit milk-drying facility from Saputo after latter was forced to divest it.

It's terrific to see these retail brands returning to Australian ownership (not that I have anything against Japanese investment).

Thank you to the Federal Coalition Government for covertly or overtly expressing concern about mainland communist Chinese investment in Australian companies. Most Australians are not xenophobic but we know the mainland Chinese will never be our friends while a totalitarian regime remains in place, unlike for instance democratic Taiwan. There was huge opposition in rural areas to another mainland Chinese takeover.
