Exactly as you state...."no higher/competing offer" ....if one emerges Pfizer can increase their "Best and Final Offer" price....wouldn't hold my breath for one though.
I go out to the garage to put new number plate protectors on....and they release an announcement....mmmm.....I'd say some of the would-be buyers this afternoon got wind of the info/ASX release.
