Can not see any way there will be any return for shareholders.
Anyone taking the project on , would want the equity wiped and for the creditors to take a haircut as well.
The last cap raise was their last chance.
Not sure there is anything evil involved in this, especially if you remember this is the wild west , just blind optimism.
May well be viewed differently in civilised areas east of the Nullabor.
