Very poorly worded annoucement today; dissapointing, albiet honest.
From my interpretation, brine production does not appear to be the issue. Its getting that brine through the trenches and into the ponds. Will be interesting on what else is causing the brine supply interruptions to the evaporation bonds.
In regards to the variability of FEED salts, its appears the company has grouped it with process control. There was an annoucement previously that the plant could process various potassium salt grades with no issues due to its design, however, there might be different process controls which may be required for different grades. I remember them saying ROM pile management was instrumental part of operations to ensure efficient operations. It will be interesting to see what is causing this variability, prior as per company annoucements, it appeared the evaporation ponds and the salt they were harvesting were occuring as intended
I think the international experts the company wants to get a hold of are related to some of the equipment on the plant, most likely the certifuge which the company said it was having issues with. Not those relating to evaporation.
I think analysts at Macquarie were informed of these issues before they published their report. They noted initial high ASIC costs due to dealing with issues in commissioning and that nameplate would be reached in the June quarter rather than the March quarter.
The deteriorating situation regarding omricon is not helping.
