A DEVONPORT businessman is buying shares in a mining hopeful so he can take on the Tarkine National Coalition at the miner's upcoming annual meeting.
The environmentalist TNC aims to attend the Perth AGM of Venture Minerals Limited to argue against the company's Tarkine mine plans.
Businessman and Devonport Alderman Grant Goodwin is also aiming to attend, and to tell Venture shareholders of widespread local support for mining in the region.
