My current thoughts are that markets at the spec end are not kind at the moment so maybe the current low valuation is more a macro rather than company specific thing (cash burner, unproven , etc.). However with Clarke, Evergreen, STK and now CDC seeing potential in different verticals and investing real money there is enough real world evidence to believe we have a potentially very valuable and real asset. With new board/management and some promotion we could attract new investors quite easily. But maybe it’s kind of pushing against the tide of the current market.
I prefer that instead of just pure salesmanship (which sometimes results in disappointment of overpromised hopes and dreams) the company gets very hard nosed about the next deal it does. With the current list of players materially backing us we need to get more commercial than research focussed (agree with
@stormer on this one!). Even though there may be cases where collaboration, and exchange of say license for registration (ie STK) may make a business case - the market doesn’t get that. And the company needs to have the market on side as it will need to raise again and god help us if we do it at the current valuation. We have large interests backing us but for each vertical (and there are many) the programs will still take years. Selling a story to raise money on the back of ‘promise we’ll have revenue in 3-5 years’ doesnt really fly even in reasonable markets. What counts is someone chipping some real money in either as equity or up front contribution for a license. Getting a cornerstone or a significant cash injection increases our runway but also materialises the partnering commitment. People just don’t rate research collaboration (evidenced today) but the good thing about the CDC development is it’s another vertical, another validation, commitment. It’s gives the new management the ability to tell the next STK that a ticket to the party is several $M upfront in cold cash or go away!! We will land someone, extend the runway and increase the Val to several times todays value and have the ability to raise meaningful money if needed. Still a way to go, but a positive development today and an unsurprising myopic response by the asx.
