    You are right that future dividend is hard for me or anyone to predict unless company can provide some guide on EBITDA.

    However, I used $1.5 being conservative but again as you mentioned dividend could be $2 or $3 or $4 or $5 as no one knows how commodity perform and how NPTA works for BHP after O&G and part of their coal asset is divested.

    those who are currently shareholder of the BHP will get free Woodside shares so for them it is about getting dividend from both asset but it is about future investor and why one should invest at say $40 once woodside takes away O&G?

    most company share price goes down after dividend and then return after sometime depending upon how business perform but in case of BHP their share price will go down because their assets are sold off and until those assets or revenue are replaced by something else in my opinion.
