I agree , not the best run company and they have made their mistakes. The point that you are missing though is there are circumstances during periods of high commodity prices or dam disasters at competitor's mines that this company becomes attractive and if you get your timing right in entering and exiting you can make money investing in BHP. Over the last couple of years we have been in such a period. But all things come to an end and if we see a large reduction in Iron Ore prices then this could trigger an exit event.
