Anyone got an insight into why the offer dates were omitted from the original release, and then updated in the correction email sent out? As @jogo and others have pointed out, the threat from Bastion if they get to 75% acceptance but not 90% acceptance to delist XAM from the ASX would suggest that Bastion had done some planning, and this offer may not have been thrown together at the last minute to put a rocket under Xijin?
After having a bit of a look at Boroo Pte Ltd I can see what others say about these guys looking like legitimate mine builders, and also pretty canny deal makers, Mongolia is certainly their own backyard, Dulguun Erdenebaatar looking like a kind of Singaporean version of Bill Beamont. Will be interesting to see if this transaction is one of the few cases where Zijin have been caught flat-footed in M&A.
