Usually a visual assessment with RC drilling as with any drilling. Any company doing a proper job will be logging the holes. Someone will be taking a representative sample out of each bag seiving it and a Geologist will be logging it. Taking into account lithology alteration mineralisation and structure (without orientation for chips). This gets recorded. All mineralisation will have an estimate associated with it made by the geo.
