    The fact that the business has paid for the video marketing content is exactly why they’ll be motivated to promote the app. If the app is a central hub for all BIG video content, and the business profiles are linked to customer bonuses like free uber rides, discounted services and social caché, then it’s in the businesses interest to offer their customers incentives to share the video content and review their experience, and it’s in the customer’s interest to do so to take advantage of offers linked to the app (ie free uber rides etc).

    Both parties are motivated, and are doing BIG’s work for them.

    This is aside from the cultural phenomen of every Gen Y’er dreaming of fame and glory and needing to have their face and voice in as many promotional places as possible. Youtubers and vlogging is one of the most fundament shifts re social interaction and status for the young and tech savvy. Setting up a unique platform that rewards customers and businesses, and let’s individuals live out ‘TV personality’ fantasies is a freaking huge deal.

    BIG have acquired the means and content to do this, and are now rolling out a genius marketing campaign to see if it can be pulled off.

    It could be a viral phenomenon, or BIG could unfortunately just be limited to making hundreds of millions annually for creating video promotional content. Tough times lol.
