    It is normal for business to pay a deposit as a consideration for a contract.

    According to Contract Law, the innocent party can seek for expectation damages resulted from the default of the breaching party, as per the case of Czarnikow Ltd v Koufos

    If you are talking about law here, I will wonder whether the directors have conduct with Due diligence and care under the both Common Law and Corporate Law? What's happened to the VC deal, the Cannaglobal deal, the Yushop deal?

    Did the directors act for the best interest for the company under the statutory law?

    These questions may leave to you guys to think about..
