whilst my intil reaction to this agreement was "not happy jan", what MAY have done is pretty much got out of any future $$ committment, which given the state the Co is in, that probably is not too bad a result and secondly their partenr being chinese i suspect will be able to navigate the labyrinth of Cuban gov in a way no western admin could especially MAY - 12.5% profit is pretty good and so far out it is somewhat irrelevant - they have secured their future from drilling duds and more CRs than u would want to stay in at say 20% to development.

The Beehive JV is more what i expected for Cuba, but it wasn't - but Beehive is and that is good but risk here is getting two Gov to agree is not something i like or need to have happen before things move - dont like it but cannot do much but pray that both Govs are practical and have moved closer to agreement - dont hold my breath though, one bad fiscal clause and JV partners gone!!!! - hope not.
