Unrelated but hoping someone can offer an explication. Tax issue.. I bought a stock.. 16 k. Couple of years later stock did a consolidation. I ended up selling all shares for 6 k. In my mind I had a 10 k loss.. tax agent said not so.. after the consolidation my shares only cost me about 2 k so sold for 6 k making a 4 k profit…. That doesn’t sit right with me.. coz I’m out 10 k. Can someone explain it a bit better to me please.. thanks in advance
