Many of the problems thus far in the WA sector have been due to flotation.
RWD has never included flotation.
I was at the RWD AGM last week, they don’t like flotation, they think it is hard enough for other minerals without trying to use it to process SOP.
The back wash technique is apparently from little known research from the 1960’s.
The process is about removing further halite in ponds so as not to need to remove it by flotation in the plant. RWD are very confident about this process after a 2 year field trial.
Flotation clearly works in the right hands (Compass Mineral, Utah) but thus far in WA it has been a headache. Perhaps AMN will have more success.
