I think it’s a general misconception that due to no new green fields being funded, the supply will remain stagnant and balance out when lithium demand picks up.
Although it’s extremely difficult for explorers to start a new project, there are still plenty of ramp up activities from the existing big players. They will add significant supply to the market with favorable cost curves. Greenbushes is a good example.
I dont see a reversal of the trend untill at least 1-2 years later.
