Rather than ’adding’ more functionality’ they are ‘integrating’ more functionality on the biochip. The difference being that a new design will need to be fabricated not the current one add to.

If my reading of that is correct, it means that they are confident enough to now go ‘all-out’ to provide all the necessary bells and whistles to blow the market out of the water!

Also, I think it’s prudent that AXE keep themselves flexible and not tie themselves to any one sector. They have stated that they are initially targeting the medical market, however, they have also mentioned other possible applications that the biochip could be repurposed to:

    • Environmental monitoring
    • Food safety testing
    • Water quality testing

Therefore, that would include things like the food & beverage industries, groundwater science for the mining and agricultural sectors, etc, etc. Depending on what functionality they choose to include, these could become test cases for the bigger picture.

What's missing in this announcement is a timeline. Can we already assume that they already know what they are integrating and have started that process? What lessons have been learnt that links back to the Qubit chip?

Looking forward to seeing how this unfolds over the coming months.
