Ann: Biochip gFET design validated by commercial foundry partner, page-45

On RE-reading earlier ANNs, I understand that Archer sent a “simple” gFET design off to a German foundry to be printed on a wafer along with those of other clients. A “multi project wafer”.
In parallel, a more complex design was sent to a foundry in the Netherlands for them to print on a 4 inch wafer (Archer’s design alone). This is what has just been done and we have a photo of it.
Apparently, the results of the German MPW will not be ready until the end of this year.
I’m confused as to why Archer are continuing with the “MPW” part of the work when they already have a more advanced chip printed? Does anyone have any ideas?

Also, would the foundry have printed just 1 4-inch wafer (45 chips) for Archer? Would that be enough?
I understand that the chips need to be cut from the wafer with a diamond disc. Who would do that work…the foundry?

All in all I find announcements like this latest one to be very exciting and indicate to me that progress can be very quick indeed when manufacturing is outsourced. I could be wrong but I still get the feeling that the gravity of these ANNs is lost on the market in general. One day, when a company-making ANN is made, there will be a mad scramble for Archer shares.
