They will never get FDA approval for sleep apnea for a nasal device if they intend selling it in the US. Clinical trials will have to be done to back up them claims. Snoring yes it may have some benefit to some people but there are plenty of nasal devices out there that make the same claim. Sports and snoring should be where they should spend their marketing dollars imo.

    Types of sleep apnea

    • Obstructive sleep apnea is the most common type of sleep apnea. It occurs when the soft tissue in the back of your throat relaxes during sleep and blocks the airway, often causing you to snore loudly.
    • Central sleep apnea is a much less common type of sleep apnea that involves the central nervous system, occurring when the brain fails to signal the muscles that control breathing. People with central sleep apnea seldom snore.
    • Complex sleep apnea is a combination of obstructive sleep apnea and central sleep apnea.

    Common causes of snoring

    • Allergies
    • Eating too much at night
    • Nasal congestion
    • Deformity of the nose
    • Consumption of alcohol close to bed-time, especially if the amount is large
    • Being overweight or obese
    • Pregnancy
    • Swelling of the muscular part of the roof of the mouth
    • Swollen adenoids or tonsils, especially in children
    • Medications, including sleeping tablets
    • Sleep position – sleeping on your back may cause your throat muscles and tongue to relax; the tongue is then more likely to fall back and compress the airway, causing snoring or making snoring louder.
