This announcement smacks of desperation (for attention), and I think reflects poorly on management's expectations of their HCV programme. The point I made earlier about Zika is an enormous hurdle, and the eventual treatment for this virus will be a vaccine, not an antiviral. Such a vaccine will most likely be developed within 12 months, though testing to the level required by regulatory agencies will probably mean several years before market. BIT225 or any of the other viroporin inhibitors will certainly not beat this timeframe.
