Not so. The Vpu is the name of the viroporin specific to HIV, and it is these cells that Bioton's compounds target across all CoV's. Their work on coronaviruses prior to the present pandemic showed that viroporin activity is inhibited in SARS-CoV-1, E299, H1N1, and other human CoV strains. Their technology and compounds on viroporins is relevant to them all.

To what extent it is demonstrable to inhibit SARS2 is yet to be seen, but to say that BIT225 is irrelevant to Covid-19 virus (sick), is a far more irrelevant comment.
