A terrible decision for TZN. A win for the wineries. I totally agree that a small underground mine could have been developed without too much disturbance if any to the viticulture nearby. IMO the big reason for all this is the calibre of the wineries near the site. Unfortunately, for TZN, Bird in hand and Petaluma are very established and world class. If they had been new vines in a marginal area, this decision may have been different. Anyway, there are repercussions in this decision. Perhaps SA will not be seen as much a mining friendly state.
