I think their exposure to banks and other big dividend payers is one factor. Being underweight tech and healthcare this year is another.
If banks start paying larger dividends this year it should bounce back. Many of their holdings reduced dividends to preserve capital on a 'just in case' basis. These should also returen to paying this year.
I look through the cycle for this type of investment and think they'll still be a good place to invest over 5-10 years.
