Good point, however if a board of the achievement and qualification of this one were incompetent enough to run out of money to me it would be 'a bare the arse in Bourke Street' job.
Not going to happen, even DeVries has post graduate finance qualification. There is also a short term loan. Copulos would not even notice a few hundred grand out of one of his accounts for a month or two. So, I don't think there is any need for concern whatever.
On the point of SYR, their grades, and this is from distant memory I.e. the % of graphite in the material mined were in some places very high up to 17%, from memory which put their FOB at a very acceptable exciting rate.
But when you get down to the nitty gritty the purity of the final concentrate is of paramount importance. Even one percentage point or less can make the difference between having a product that is acceptable, cost wise, to process, or not.
Syrahs purity is way below that of BKT. The cost to process their product to be suitable for battery production would result in a major cost difference to a customer.
I know nothing about the structure/ composition of BKT graphite processed to the point of use in batteries but it is apparently pretty damn good, this process constitutes years of testing which people don't seem to understand.
This is why a signing like this with Posco is of significance imo.
As long as mining grades and other contributing costs, production and getting the concentrate to port are acceptable to the bottom line, which they are, then the whole show relies upon purity of product and the characteristics of the final concerntrate with respect to it's suitability for battery application. It's complex to the extent that the majority have no idea and it is laughable to read some on other threads waxing lyrical about their project.
BKT are in 'quietly quietly catchee monkey' mode. That's the only way it is going to work in the graphite space.
Starting to show sound promise
Purity is key to customer cost and dictates what they are prepared to pay for the concentrate - very simply put.
