That is complete nonsense.
The Indonesian laterite based nickel has a high CO2 footprint, is toxic to the environment and expensive to produce when compared to potential supply coming from sulfide based nickel resources. BSX has 500,000 tones of measured nickel sulfide resource in Northern Vietnam. Comparatively, this resource is significantly cleaner and cheaper to mine and refine.
IMHO the Indonesian nickel supply has a limited use by date. The favorite party trick of the Chinese is to flood the market, knock out competition, and dominate supply. They will take a financial hit to achieve this, and that is exactly what is happening at present.
