    My understanding is that Tunnel junctions are still a technology in their arsenal. The pivot to lasers has pushed its use into the future. The initial focus was MOCVD for GAN lasers. RPCVD comes into play for more advanced/cutting edge products (i.e. DFB lasers). Tunnel junctions could potentially be used to improve laser efficiency.
