- oil projects rarely go according to plan, this is just the way it goes = cheerful acceptance of realities
- its all about the mud chemistry (acid etc) - get that right and we're away = technical options
- we desperately need outside experts as MAY have now played all their cards = limits on the the team
- the MAY team have royally stuffed up, and now are backs to the wall = panic
