The oil in reservoir will have SG <1.0

the 4km mud column will gave SG 1.8 or so, without mud column to balance the well there should be 32000 kPa motive pressure in the reservoir to blast out any emulsion invasion. Can the emulsion really cause the invasion to pack tighter and block the flow path against motive pressure of 32000kpa (4600PSI)?

or are we saying we can’t swap out the mud in the drill pipe? Surely circulation will sort the drill pipe out therefore the invasion should be easily blasted out. Anyone care to explain?

I don’t get it but I know about pressure and this ain’t stacking up for 10kpsi reservoir pressures. Perhaps all the kicks were just gas pockets?
