aplogies to @1956 ... this was actually meant to be directed to all those who adjudged MAY of being negligent in planning for this contingency, Ill-prepared and generally cocking this drill up. you, me, we don't have all the information and even if we did... unlikely we could appreciate all the challenges which come with this drill campaign.
Sherritt are the experts, we have our experts, they know what they are doing. AP is not an engineer and any announcements are approved by the BOARD. on that Board are Peter Strickland and Michael Sandy O&G specialists. there's Duncan and Errol as well who would advising the Board.
it's not MAY's job to educate shareholders on the ins and outs of O&G Exoloration and development- inform yourselves so that the announcements can be understood.
I'm not an AP apologist but if some have an issue with him personally- fine. I don't like a few things around communication - frequency, level of detail, and especially after-trading hours "bad news" announcements, and yes, it grates me that there is perhaps (suspicion) some "leakiness" wrt information and early selling by select insiders.
that can be improved for certain. the technical issues and challenges ... that's not really MAY's or AP's fault... that comes with the territory. we can only judge the quality of the team by how they respond and overcome the challenges. for that I give them a big tick.
I invested with my eyes wide open ... it's Cuba, MAY is a junior, working off 2D seismic, infrastructure may not be the best, access to experts, services and materials will be a challenge, but the asset/project is bloody exciting and potentially very rewarding. I accept that risk v reward.
