I don't want to be that guy, but once we got past 5.4c it was always only going one way.
In hindsight it seems this announcement was done knowing that there was a high chance of success hence even the 5 days timeline.
This way those in the "know" can buy with no chance of a price query slowing things down as the company clearly announced what is happening.
