    You are correct in some respect.
    We are in a competitive environment, so competitive that the margins on building are lower than they used to be, so these huge price increases are not expected by the market.

    You are totally wrong about the customers being partly to blame. Australians have been loyal users of bluescope products because of the quality they are known for. Cheap imports are minimal in my opinion. If bluescope at some point has made the decision to import a lot of their coils that's not the customers fault.

    The price increases are because of commodity costs mostly. Rising iron ore etc just flows on to the customer at the end of the chain, at least that's what we are told, but prices never seem to drop when commodity prices drop.

    Being in the industry, there's currently huge coil shortages so I cannot see how bluescope can be increasing their volumes when there are such huge backlogs. I just see price increases as the reason.
