If the CSIRO did their job correctly, we might not even be having this discussion. You do realise renewables are only cheaper because they decided not to include all the transmission and infrastructure sunk costs up to 2030, and they do not deal with adequate storage to firm up the grid. The report is biased and floored; if you follow the right people, you will see this evolving now.
I'm not too sure we can compare and use SA (5% of the national economy and same in national energy consumption) as our saviour and guiding energy light against more energy-intensive states like NSW, QLD, VIC, WA; plus, the geography is not the same in those areas, SA is flat and baron with a much smaller energy requirement.
