I am not sure if we keep guessing what happened. It could be a keen buyer want a sure buy and offer a much higher than anticipated price. With the lithium market does show some staiblisation, the auction bid will eventually be the same. So why not selling it to a keen buyer before auction just like it happens in the property market. Interestingly, so far other companies have not copied this auction for themselves. Probably they don't have a spare capacity and PLS has this spare capacity and reserved for future long term offtakes?
