hindsight is always good mate.... first mining is not making software where you can create thing that doesn't exist which in-turn creates exponential value overtime (depending upon what you create obviously.. apple/microsoft/some asx tech stock )... second is that you are giving example of American shares where tax system more favourable to capital gain then full franked dividend refund that we got as a gift from god loved John Howard and Peter Costello... ... IMO ... so in general in Australia fully franked dividend is much more valuable then capital gain in my opinion... ! and before someone jump to conclusion that PLS doesn't have enough franking credit for close to 3 billion outstanding shares then remember nothing stopping company to give unfranked dividend first and then started to give fully franked in following years when franking is available ... IMO.
